|AN OPEN LETTER TO ZELLA AMO
I can hardly blame you for joining the Occupy Wall Street movement. I have been involved in protesting
the treatment of my church since 1989, your father, George Roden was involved in the same protest for
years before me, and your Roden grandparents were protesting from the 1960s. As they say, the apple
seldom falls outside the orchard.
I have, however, perhaps mislead you in my comments on your Facepage, when I said, "My Theory: Why
throw bricks when the truth is legal and more devastating!" While this is true, it might imply that protest
in America is without risk and that message would be emphatically wrong. Once protesters and
reformers stopped being shot (and I'm thinking of Martin, Medgar, Malcolm, John and Bobby), they
started dying young (Cesar Chavez, Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Huey Newton).
For a person like you, there is an added risk, not only were your parents and half your grandparents
known dissenters, they rose up in protest of the treatment of a church that teaches sedition using
chapter and verse of the Bible.
"In law, sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal
authority to tend toward insurrection against the established order." (Wikipedia). The teachings of the
church are seditious in three respects.
First, the church teaches the overthrow of the nations. "And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other
people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." (Dan. 2:
44, for the whole prophecy, see Dan. 2:31-45).
Second, the church teaches that land ownership is a human right, and that every person will own land in
the kingdom that takes over the earth. "But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig
tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it. (Micah 4:4; for
the whole prophecy, see Micah 4:1-4). In the words of Christ: "Blessed are the meek: for they shall
inherit the earth." (Matt. 5:5).
Third, the church teaches that the tithe (10%) is the only valid tax. "Alas! for that day is great, so that
none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he (denotes both Jacob and his descendants)
shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his
yoke (oppressive taxation) from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds (oppressive laws), and strangers
shall no more serve themselves of (take money from) him (denotes both Jacob and his descendants,
the known Jews and the ten lost tribes found in the Christian nations): but they shall serve the Lord
their God..." (Jer. 30: 7-9). God is financially served by paying the 10% tithe. Note also that there are no
taxes on land, No tax collectors threaten the owners of land. As Micah 4:4 (quoted above) says: "none
shall make them afraid."
In summary, the church teaches the overthrow of nations, the end of vast land fortunes with the
redistribution of land and the end of bloated government with huge tax revenues. These teachings are
close to sedition, but teaching the Bible is a protected activity under the First Amendment to the
Constitution. Seditious or not, the church's message is legal.
(You might wonder why every poor person would not desire to promote God's Kingdom. The answer is
the people who lie and steal and do violence are not welcome there. Only the meek can take part.)
While the church's message is legal, It is also dangerous to teach it.
Many church members believe that your grandparents, Ben and Lois Roden were murdered. Your father
George Roden, spent the last nine years of his life in custody as a political prisoner. Events at the time
of his death also suggest foul play, two widely different causes of death were reported and the State of
Texas gave him a free funeral and kept possession of the body.
Personally, I am closing in on a significant anniversary. As on January 4, 2011, unknown persons will
have used unrelenting chemical warfare (ingested and inhaled poisons) against me for 20 years. Daily
survival for me involves a strenuous exercise program, an extremely good diet, and a lot of prayers.
By this point you have probably thought: "This has nothing to do with me, I'm not part of the church."
You are, however, as the world judges, the person who has the most right to claim the next generation
leadership of the church (even if you don't want it.) This is because, of the Roden children, you alone
are a blood descendant of four church leaders, Ben, Lois, George and me.
Of course, the leadership of the church actually falls on a person with the gift of prophecy and a call
from God. However, just before your 4th birthday, you told me that God had spoken to you and related
what He said. At that point, unknown persons had been poisoning me for about nine months, so I'm sure
that my house was bugged. Within a few days you were in foster care, taken with a batch of lies. I'm sure
there is a record of exactly what you said in some dusty archive.
So, you have a physical birthright claim on the church, and part of the spiritual requirement, you can
hear God. The rest of the requirement, a call from God, may or may not happen. For the purposes of the
enemies of the church, whether God actually calls you or not is immaterial. You exist, therefore you are
a potential threat. You are, so to speak, a marked woman.
Because of this, I am very concerned about the National Forbearance Day on your Facepage, I have
been framed twice. (I only escaped a felony conviction by refusing to be browbeaten into taking a free
lawyer and insisting on defending myself.) My concerns are partially relieved by your several
references to non-violent protest, however, I am also concerned that you appear to be advocating
forms of illegal tax resistance.
In my uninformed opinion, that might make it possible for the government to try you as an accessory
before the fact to tax evasion. I certainly don't want you to spend years in a Federal Penitentiary.
Because I am not an expert, I am referring the matter to your brother, who, as a law student, is qualified
to research the matter. I hope you will accept him as your legal counselor.
One thing I have learned as a protester. It is important to choose your battles. My website advice about
the IRS incidentally is a one liner. "There are some snakes you don't kick."
You are in my every prayer.
