THE PLAGUES OF EGYPT
The shepherd rod of Moses which became a serpent had prophetic significance that was fulfilled in
Yeshua the Christ. (See No. 67, "Feed My Lambs.")

The oppression of the children of Israel by the Egyptians also had prophetic significance, it pointed
forward to the Industrial Revolution with its exploitation of workers by industrialists. "And the Egyptians
made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: and they made their lives bitter with hard bondage..."
(Ex. 1:13,14).

Even forcing the children of Israel to gather their own straw to make bricks has prophetic significance, it
points forward to the end time economic oppression of workers that makes it more and more difficult for
them to live in comfort. As soon as Moses asked Pharaoh to let the children of Israel go, Pharaoh made
the lives of the children of Israel hard.

"And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord,
neither will I let Israel go. And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their
officers, saying, Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and
gather straw for themselves. And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon
them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof... Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may
labour therein; and let them not regard vain words." (Ex. 5:2,6-9).

In 1930, when V. T. Houteff began calling Israel to come out of the world, the National Debt was just over
16 billion. In 1960, after Ben Roden added his call to Houteff's, the National Debt was over 290 billion. By
1980, after Lois Roden had taken over the message, the National Debt was 909 billion. Since I continued
the call to leave the cities (and actually set up God's Kingdom in the wilderness, see No. 56, "The Third
Trumpet" for instructions), the national debt has soared from over 3,206 billion in 1990 to 12,311 billion in
2009.

In the 2009 fiscal year, the Treasury Department spent $383 billion on interest payments to the holders of
the National Debt. That comes out of your taxes. Since 2003, income taxes have had six brackets, with the
poorest Americans (those in the bottom bracket) paying 10% and the richest Americans (those in the top
bracket) paying 35%. Since a single person making $33,951 – $82,250 paid 25% in 2009, it is obvious that
the middle class pays a disproportionate amount of taxes.

When income tax is added to licensing fees, property taxes, escalating utility costs, and the inflationary
nature of huge debt, the middle class is feeling the lash of economic oppression. "And the officers of the
children of Israel (middle management), which Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten..."
(Ex. 5:14).

Seeing that all of these events were prophetic, it should be no surprise that the plagues of Egypt are
prophetic of the conditions which will exist at the time of the gathering of the children of Israel into God's
Kingdom. The last seven of the plagues of Egypt also shed light on the last seven plagues of Revelation
15 and 16.

The first six plagues are primarily signs. As God tells Moses: "And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and
multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt." (Ex. 7:3).

The First Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go. And the
Lord spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of
Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that
they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of
wood, and in vessels of stone. And Moses and Aaron did so, as the Lord commanded; and he lifted up the
rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants;
and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. And the fish that was in the river died; and
the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood
throughout all the land of Egypt. And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for
they could not drink of the water of the river." (Ex. 7:14,19-21,24).

Blood is a symbol of martyrdom. "And he (God) said (to Cain), What hast thou done? the voice of thy
brother’s
blood crieth unto Me from the ground." (Gen. 4:10). "And when he had opened the fifth seal, I
saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which
they held: and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge
and avenge our
blood on them that dwell on the earth?" (Rev. 6:9,10).

Fish can be used to symbolize the children of Israel. "Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord,
that it shall no more be said, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of
Egypt; but, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all
the lands whither He had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their
fathers. Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them..." (Jer. 16:14-16).

This plague now exists with the martyrdom of outspoken Christians like Martin Luther King, Jr. (Because
of the evil institution of slavery, many African Americans are literally descendants of Jacob, children of
Israel.) In recent years, the persecution has been hidden, but it will not remain so. "For, behold, the Lord
cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:
the earth also shall
disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain
." (Is. 26:21).

The Second Plague

"And the Lord spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let My people
go, that they may serve Me. And the Lord spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand
with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the
land of Egypt. And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and
covered the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Entreat the Lord, that he
may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do
sacrifice unto the Lord. And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the Lord
because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh. And the Lord did according to the word of
Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields. And they gathered
them together upon heaps: and the land stank." (Ex. 8:1,5,6,7,12-14).

Frogs are symbols of evil spirits. "And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the
dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet." (Rev. 16:13). Our
world is full of people who are evil, who have a resident evil spirit.

The Third Plague

"But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as
the Lord had said. And the Lord said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust
of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron stretched
out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the
dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt." (Ex. 8:15-17).

Lice are annoying and troublesome, but not particularly harmful. They are parasites, those who live from
the efforts of others while contributing nothing to the world. An example would be welfare cheats and
people who manipulate charities.

The Fourth Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh
forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. Else,
if thou wilt not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and
upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and
also the ground whereon they are. And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people
dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the Lord in the midst
of the earth. And I will put a division between My people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be. And
the Lord did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his
servants’ houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies.
And Pharaoh said, I will let you go...  And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the Lord
that the swarms of flies may depart...  And the Lord did according to the word of Moses; and He removed
the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one." (Ex. 8:
20-24, 28,29,31).

Flies, like the common housefly, are spreaders of disease, taking harmful bacteria and viruses from
manure or rotting flesh on their feet and touching clean food. The world is full of disease spreaders.
Many who have deadly diseases like AIDS lay with unsuspecting partners and spread the disease.

The most important thing to note here is that this plague will not fall upon God's people who have
separated themselves from the world. They will not have indiscriminate sexual relationships. They will
also have a high protein organic predominately vegetarian diet of food they have grown themselves.
Their diet will help them to maintain their health.

We have seen the beginning of this fourth plague of Egypt in our modern world, it is the first of the
seven last plagues. (See No. 62, "The Seven Last Plagues.")

The Fifth Plague

"Then the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the
Hebrews, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them
still, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the
asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain. And
the Lord shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all
that is the children’s of Israel. And the Lord appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the Lord shall do this
thing in the land. And the Lord did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the
cattle of the children of Israel died not one. And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the
cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go."
(Ex. 9:1-7).

A murrain is a disease which is sudden and deadly, an acute viral or bacterial infection. This murrain
strikes animals that are in the field in Egypt. It does not effect the flocks of the children of Israel, who are
separate from Egypt in the land of Goshen.

Spiritually, the children of Israel are the flocks of God. "Thus shall they know that I the Lord their God am
with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are My people, saith the Lord God. And ye My flock,
the flock of My pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God." (Ez. 34:30,31).

Since this murrain effects flocks, it applies to both men and beasts in the end time. Only the people who
have left the cities and founded God's Kingdom in the countryside and their animals are immune to it.
They are living much as men lived before the sojourn in Egypt. That is to say that they eat very little meat
and a completely organic diet. They don't go to doctors and they don't take poisonous prescriptions.
"Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees (force families to accept medical treatment of their
children that outsiders deem proper), and that write grievousness which they have prescribed." (Is. 10:1).

In God's Kingdom, they stone grind their own flours and they eat no refined foods (like white flour and
white sugar). They eat no food additives because they cook their own food. They eat no fat because the
Bible forbids men to eat fat. "It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your
dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood." (Lev. 3:17).

In the beginning, people ate a vegan diet, as God told them: "And God said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit
of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." (Gen. 1:29). On this diet men lived hundreds of years.
For example: "And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died."
(Gen. 5:27).

After the flood, God gave Noah meat to eat. "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as
the green herb have I given you all things." (Gen. 9:3). The effect of meat eating on longevity was soon
apparent.

"And all the days of Noah were
nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. These are the generations of
Shem (Noah's son):
Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood: and
Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years (total six hundred years)
, and begat sons and
daughters. And (after another seven generations) the days of Terah (Abraham's father) were
two hundred
and five years
: and Terah died in Haran. And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he
lived, an
hundred threescore and fifteen years. And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore
years
. And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred
forty and seven years
. And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an
hundred and ten years." (Gen. 9:29; 11:10,11,32; 25:7; 35:28; 47:28; 50:22).

While people living in the world are dying young of infectious diseases, people in God's Kingdom will
soon be living centuries."Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the
Lord of
hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His ancients gloriously
." (Is. 24:23).

The Sixth Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let
Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh. And it shall become small dust in all the land
of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains (skin ulcers) upon man, and upon beast,
throughout all the land of Egypt. And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and
Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon
beast. And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had
spoken unto Moses." (Ex. 9:8-10,12).

"A boil breaking forth with blains" is the symbol of chronic disease, for example, the various forms of
cancer. Once again the children of Israel who separate themselves from the world to worship God
according to His instructions in the Bible and form His Kingdom are spared these diseases.

"And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in
his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these
diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee." (Ex.
15:26).

From the fourth plague of Egypt through the tenth plague of Egypt, there are seven plagues. These
correspond to the seven last plagues of Revelation 15 and 16, which effect the whole world. Therefore
the fifth and sixth Egyptian plagues, which are acute and chronic diseases, correspond to the second
and third of the seven last plagues on the world.

Very briefly, the second of the end time (Rev. 16) plagues falls upon the apostate church. When this
plague is poured out with the wrath of God, there will be a resumption of the slaughter of Ezekiel 9
affecting those churches that contain no saints.

The third of the end time (Rev. 16) plagues also falls on the apostate church. When this plague is poured
out with the wrath of God, the saints who refuse to heed the call to come forth from Babylon, are damned
for staying in the apostate churches. The message the members of apostate churches accept is that the
Kingdom of God is a blasphemous cult. Accepting that message is the equivalent of drinking blood, the
presence of saints can no longer protect these churches from the slaughter of Ezekiel 9. (See No. 62,
"The Seven Last Plagues.")

In physical terms, these two plagues combined mean that God will take his gift of healing away from the
apostate churches, who keep the sabbath and feast days of the papacy, rather than the Sabbath and feast
days of the Bible.

"Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command
thee this day, to do them. Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep,
and do them, that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which He sware
unto thy fathers: thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among
you, or among your cattle.
And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil
diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee
." (Deut.
7:11,12,14,15).

The spiritual gifts which Christ promised His followers, who walked both in His message and in the
Commandments, statures and judgments of the Bible, will depart from the apostate churches even as
they begin to manifest in the Kingdom of God. Healing was among these gifts.

"And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that
believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs
shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands
on the sick, and they shall recover
." (Mark 16:15-18).

{Note that the taking up of serpents is allegorical. When the shepherd rod of Moses was cast down, it
became a serpent. When the serpent was picked up, it became a shepherd rod again. Christ was raised
up as a brazen serpent when He was crucified, He became at that time also a shepherd rod to lead us into
His Kingdom. The taking up of serpents is a command to lift up the message of Christ crucified and teach
it to the world. It is also a symbol of sinners (serpents) converted to witnessing Christians (shepherd
rods). Also see No. 67, "Feed My Lambs."}

The Seventh Plague

At the time of the seventh plague, the plagues stop being merely signs and become judgments, and
these judgments are deadly. "But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay My hand upon Egypt,
and bring forth Mine armies, and My people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great
judgments." (Ex. 7:4).

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto
him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let My people go, that they may serve Me. For I will at this
time send all My plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest
know that there is none like Me in all the earth. For now I will stretch out My hand, that I may smite thee
and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth." (Ex. 9:13-15).

The seventh plague was hail and lightning and fire. "And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine
hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon
every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven:
and
the Lord sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the Lord rained hail upon
the land of Egypt. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none
like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt
all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every
tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail
. And
Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is
righteous, and I and my people are wicked. Entreat the Lord (for it is enough) that there be no more
mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer. And Moses went out of the
city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the Lord: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the
rain was not poured upon the earth. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the
children of Israel go; as the Lord had spoken by Moses." (Ex. 9:22-28,33,35).

This thunder and hail and fire are symbols of the nuclear war that comes with the fourth end time plague.
Here is the fourth plague scripture. "And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power
was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the
name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory." (Rev. 16:
8,9).

This great heat ought to be the result of a nuclear war. "For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the
year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion. And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and
the dust thereof into brimstone, and
the land thereof shall become burning pitch." (Is. 34:8,9).

The crops destroyed during this great thunder, hail and fire have prophetic significance as well. "And the
flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled. But the wheat and
the rie (rye) were not smitten: for they were not grown up." (Ex. 9:31,32).

The flax is a symbol of the priesthood, who were commanded to wear (linen) garments made of flax when
they served the Lord in His tabernacle. Barley is the first ripe grain, the grain of the wave sheaf that the
high priest waves in the temple to signal the beginning of the harvest. So the flax and the barley
symbolize those who had knowledge to be part of founding God's Kingdom and refused to leave the
cities. They are judged during the fourth end time plague.

The Eighth Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his
servants, that I might shew these My signs before him: and Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and
said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself
before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me. Else, if thou refuse to let My people go, behold, to
morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast: and the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over
the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the
land, even all that the hail hath left. And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all
the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither
after them shall be such. For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened;
and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there
remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt. Then
Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the Lord your God, and
against you. And he (Moses) went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the Lord. And the Lord turned a mighty
strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one
locust in all the coasts of Egypt. But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the
children of Israel go." (Ex. 10:1,3,4,12-16,18,19, 20).

The eight plague of Egypt is a plague of famine. It is the pattern of the fifth end time plague. After the
nuclear war of the fourth plague, the food producing and distributing systems of the world are completely
disrupted, and that disruption produces wide spread famine.

The war between God and the satanists of the world continues in the fifth end time plague. This plague
falls specifically and only on the murderous enemies of God's Kingdom.

"And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness;
and they gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and
their sores, and repented not of their deeds." (Rev. 16:10,11).

This is result of a nuclear war falling on the cities, where the minions of Satan base their power. Also it is
a series of victorious battles as the hosts of God defeat the satanists who come to overthrow the
settlements of God's Kingdom and steal their fields and their food.

The Ninth Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over
the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven;
and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: they saw not one another, neither rose
any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings. And Pharaoh
called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the Lord; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your
little ones also go with you. And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that
we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left
behind; for thereof must we take to serve the Lord our God; and we know not with what we must serve
the Lord, until we come thither. But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go."
(Ex. 10:21-27).

The three days of darkness are a symbol of Christ, who spent three days in the hands of His enemies and
was crucified by them. "For as Jonas (Jonah) was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so
shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the (darkness of the) heart of the earth." (Matt. 12:
40).

The three days of darkness are prophetic of the return of Christ during the sixth end time plague, and the
spiritual darkness of the world that will not recognise Him.

In the sixth end time plague, the plague angel pours out a vial of God's wrath upon the river Euphrates,
and Christ returns unannounced and clandestinely, "as a thief." Between them they lure the wicked of
the world to their destruction. Here is the sixth plague scripture.

"And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried
up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs
come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false
prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth
and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Behold, I come as a
thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
And He gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." (Rev. 16:12-16).

Christ's King comes (see No. 41; Christ's King"), and with his ministry the judgment of the heathen
begins. In a great drought, the rivers of the Orient are dried up. This drought prepares the way for the
great armies of the kings of the east to mount a physical attack on the Holy City, Jerusalem, Israel. The
kings of the east reject Christianity and hate Christ, they are in complete spiritual darkness. They are
lured to Armageddon.

The Tenth Plague

"And the Lord said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt;
afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence
altogether. And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: and
all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne,
even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. And it
came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of
Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the
firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and
there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he called for
Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the
children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye
have said, and be gone; and bless me also." (Ex. 11:1,4,5; 12:29-32).

Because of the smiting of the firstborn of Egypt, the firstborn are dedicated to God, a natural ministry.
"And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the
womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine." (Ex. 13:1,2).

This natural ministry is a symbol of the ministry of the tribes of Israel to the world. All Christians are called
to witness about Christ to the world. Those who are not physical Israel (and a majority of Christians are
physical Israel) are spiritual Israel. So the smiting of the firstborn is symbolic of the final judgment of the
living in the Christian church, which is finished in the time of the seventh plague. That brings us to the
scripture describing the seventh plague.

"And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of
heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And
there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and
there was a great earthquake
, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake,
and so great... And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found." (Rev. 16:17,18,20).

In the time of the seventh plague, there is an earthquake so great that it shifts the islands and mountains
from their places on our maps, this is a nuclear war. The Christian church, the natural ministry of the
firstborn has been purified at this point.

There is much more about the seven end time plagues on this website. See No. 62, "The Seven Last
Plagues."
